The Fall of A Prince

Fall of a prince.jpg

Once a prince who believed in the system, now he's a sorcerer set on remaking it, no matter the cost.

Composing an ominous, villain-themed piece is one of the most fun puzzles to solve. How do you drive home that this is a "bad guy" to the audience? In this case, a lot of blue smoke helps. Like. A lot. Of  blue smoke.

Process Work

Right: Costume design. The perfect cape swoosh requires a lot of trial and error.

My work follows the same process most of the time: lineart, flat colors, and rendering. Sometimes, like here, I'll incorporate simple gradients in the flat color stage to get a sense of the lighting before shading more deliberately.
